14 DAY TRIAL // After ending things with Miley Cyrus’ brother, Trace, Demi Lovato is finally ready to move on with her love life. The 17-year-old Disney star has started dating none other than her best friend, Joe Jonas of The Jonas Brothers, as Demi herself let it slip during a recent radio interview cited by People magazine.
“It’s like the happy ending to a Disney movie: A smitten-sounding Demi Lovato revealed Friday that she is indeed dating Joe Jonas. During an interview with Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush on his radio program, The Billy Bush Show, the host asked Lovato if she’d ever dated any of the Jonas Brothers, ‘Umm, maybe,’ she said coyly. ‘Which one? Joe?’ asked Bush, to which Lovato said, ‘Yeah. He’s actually… he’s my best friend’.” People writes of Demi’s revelation.
When Bush pressed for more details, Demi gave herself away all on her own. The radio host asked her if they went from boyfriend – girlfriend to best friends, to which the star said it was actually the other way around. Backed into a corner and realizing there was no possibility of talking her way out of this, Demi did the sensible thing and confirmed they were dating. Even more, she went even further and talked a bit about Joe Jonas as a boyfriend, saying he was the perfect guy for her in every way.
“Pressing for clarification, Bush said, ‘So you guys went from boyfriend-girlfriend to best friends?’ ‘No kind of the opposite,’ the 17-year-old Sonny with a Chance star explained. ‘Oh? So you’re dating him now?’ asked Bush. ‘Umm, yeah he is my best friend and he is incredible,’ Lovato finally confessed. Lovato described her Camp Rock 2 costar as a ‘complete gentleman,’ who ‘treats me to the most amazing places.’ She added, ‘He’s perfect’.” People further writes.
As we also reported back then, Trace Cyrus explained why he and Demi were no longer an item by saying that they had given it a shot and had realized the relationship wasn’t going anywhere. Both of them being on the road for such extensive periods of time didn’t help either, so they just decided to call it quits while still good friends, the musician also said at the time.
