At the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, computer maker Dell brought to the spot light its latest Android-based devices, with the new Dell Venue smartphone packing the company's Stage UI among them.

The company announced officially that the new device would be sold unlocked, with support for GSM networks, and that it would offer support for Google's Android 2.2 operating system.

The new device comes with fast access to all the important aspects of one's communication lives through the said Stage software.

According to Dell, the user interface was meant to give “people simpler, faster access to their favorite content – from music, to movies to TV shows. Dell Stage also makes it easier to access and share photos, home movies and more across social communities like Flickr and Facebook.”

As for the hardware specs of the new Dell Venue, we should note right from the start that they are similar with those of the Windows Phone 7-powered Dell Venue Pro, minus the sliding QWERTY keyboard.

A quick look at these specs would show the following:

- The stunning 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED capacitive, multitouch display enables for easier navigation. - Capture all your most important moments with the 8 MP camera. - Stage software — Organize your music, photos and more so what’s most important to you is always front and center and never more than a touch away.

The 4.1-inch AMOLED display on Venue sports curved Corning Gorilla Glass, Dell notes, adding that the mobile phone is powered by a 1 GHz application processor.

The same as the new Dell Streak 7, the Venue comes with support for a wide range of applications via the Android Market, as well as with support for Google Mobile services.

ActiveSync and QuickOffice should also be included with the new device, as well as Swype for fast text input, high speed wireless connectivity options, and more.

Unfortunately, the company did not offer specific info on when the new mobile phone is expected to become available for purchase, nor the price tag it might feature.
