Dell Venue Pro, the first Windows Phone 7 device the computer maker announced officially for the worldwide market, is expected to make an appearance on shelves in the UK in a matter of days, after being delayed for a long period of time.

Apparently, online retailer Expansys is getting ready to make the new mobile phone available for purchase from its website in only three days, which means that February 2nd might be the lucky day for enthusiasts.

Announced officially in October 2010, the Dell Venue Pro was expected to become available for purchase before the end of the last year, but certain issues with it determined Dell to push back its delay.

No specific details were offered on why was the mobile phone's release delayed, but it seems that Dell might have finally solved them, and that Venue Pro is set to land in the UK in the middle of this week.

Expansys lists the Windows Phone 7 device with a price tag of £439.99 attached to it, contract free, and notes that those who would order it today should receive it in three days, with free shipping included into the mix.

The Dell Venue Pro is the first mobile phone to run under Microsoft's new mobile operating system while featuring a portrait sliding form factor.

The handset's 4.1-inch WVGA AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass from Corning makes it the second largest Windows Phone 7 handset on shelves. It also sports a full QWERTY keyboard.

The specifications list of Venue Pro would also include a 1GHz application processor, complemented by 512MB of RAM, along with 8GB internal memory, WiFi connectivity options, and more.

The same as other Windows Phone 7 devices, the mobile phone comes with support for Xbox Live and Zune, as well as with access to the Windows Phone Marketplace so that users can easily download and install applications.

Those interested in purchasing the new Dell Venue Pro from Expansys should head over to the retailer's website here.
