We already knew that Rogers is set to make the Dell Streak available for its customers, and it seems that Canadians can already purchase the slate in the country, via Dell's online store.

Recently, the Dell Streak emerged in a leaked roadmap from the Canadian wireless carrier, where we had the chance to see it next to other appealing devices, including the already released Nokia N8 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

On the leaked roadmap, the Android-based tablet PC sported the price tag of $149.99 on contract, but now it is offered SIM-free at Dell, for no less than $549.99.

However, even if free of contract and SIM-free, the Dell Streak would not work on any network in Canada but Rogers', at least this is what Dell states on its website.

For those who might have not encountered the Dell Streak before, we should note that the device comes with a 5-inch touchscreen display on board, underneath which Dell packed a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon application processor.

The features list of Dell Streak includes:

- Widescreen display optimally designed for mobile Web, video and movies - Integrated social networking widgets and apps, plus tons of apps through the Android Marketplace - Corning’s crystal-clear damage-resistant Gorilla glass screen - Google Maps with navigation and text-to-voice, turn-by-turn directions with Street View - Multitasking Google Android OS that gives you the freedom to do what you want

The slate sports a compact form factor, measuring 6 x 3.1 x 0.4 inches, and packs a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with dual-LED flash, as well as a front-facing VGA camera.

Moreover, the device sports GPS receiver (with Google Maps), and support for 3G networks, in addition to other connectivity options.

Dell Streak runs under Google's Android operating system. Initially released with Android 1.6 on board, Dell promised Android 2.1 and then 2.2 for it, and even pushed the slate to the Japanese market with the new OS flavor loaded on it.
