Two new Android-based devices are headed for the Australian market, including the Dell Streak and the Motorola FLIPOUT, both already announced officially as being on their way to carriers in the country.

The Dell Streak Android-based 5-inch tablet PC is expected to become available for purchase in Australia on October 1st, featuring a price tag of $649 outright, or $0 upfront on Optus's $59 Cap, the carrier announced.

Those users interested in the new device will also get 2GB of data, unlimited SMS & MMS and $500 worth of cap credit if they purchase the slate on contract.

“We’re very excited about the Dell Streak coming to Optus and providing such a unique device to our customer base. The Optus Open Network is the perfect medium for people to experience the full functionality of a tablet, such as the Dell Streak,” Austin Bryan, Director Optus Digital Media, commented.

In case there are some unaware of what the tablet PC can offer, we should note a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 CPU, 512MB RAM / 512MB ROM, 5MP camera, WiFi b/g + Bluetooth, and 16GB MicroSD Card.

As for the Motorola FLIPOUT, it will land on the Australian market at Vodafone, priced at $299, a recent article on ausdroid.net reads.

“We’re so excited to share this with you.. the Motorola FLIPOUT with MOTOBLUR is coming to Australia in early October,” Motorola Australia announced via its Facebook page.

FLIPOUT’s a stylishly square and compact smartphone and it runs on Android 2.1. FLIPOUT even comes with removable covers so you can choose from white, red and black to match your style. Check out our website for more info,” the company continued.

The specifications list of this device includes a 2.8" QVGA Capacitive Display, QWERTY Keyboard, a TI OMAP3410 600MHz CPU, 3.2MP Camera, and Google's Android 2.1 operating system, with MOTOBLUR v1.5 on top of it.
