Dell has recently announced that its Streak 7 tablet will be available in the UK at the end of April 2011. The 3G version will be sold directly through Dell's outlet for £299.

It appears that Dell has matched Streak 7's price with Samsung's Wi-Fi only Galaxy Tab price.

Dell is expected to launch the Wi-Fi-only Streak 7 soon after the standard version is out on the market. It remains to be seen in what price range Dell will position its Wi-Fi only tablet compared to other tablets in the UK.

The Streak 7 is the second tablet launched by Dell and is built upon the popular Streak 5, though it lacks the GSM voice communication capabilities.

Unfortunately, Streak 7 is delivered with Froyo on board, which is not really the best choice for devices with large displays, and the Stage UI on top.

According to the latest hearsay, Dell is preparing to update its Stage UI system, which runs on both its Android tablets and notebooks, to turn the app into a cross-platform synchronization tool.

The tablet has a 7-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 262K colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution. The screen is protected by Gorilla glass and features accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, as well as full support for multi-touch input method.

The only strong point of the HSDPA-enabled device, the powerful 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor will probably help it in its attempt to attract more customers than Galaxy Tab rival.

As odd as it may be taking pictures with a 152.9 x 79.1 x 10 mm device, the Streak 7 packs a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

The tablet is powered by a high-capacity 2780 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 72 hours of standby time or up to 4 hours continuous work.
