Computer maker Dell announced in early 2011 that it would bring to the market a new device running under Google's Android operating system, the Dell Streak 7 tablet PC, which is already available for purchase on the airwaves of T-Mobile USA with support for the carrier's HSPA+ network, and which should arrive on shelves only with Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities soon.

The Wi-Fi-only flavor of Dell Streak has received the necessary approvals from the Wi-Fi Alliance only recently, but it already popped up as available for pre-order via Amazon.

Sporting model number M02M002, the new Dell Streak 7 model, which sports only Wi-Fi connectivity capabilities, received certification last week, which suggests that it might not be too long before it would arrive on shelves.

Unfortunately, the Amazon listing, although offers users the possibility to reserve a Wi-Fi-only Dell Streak 7 tablet PC, does not offer specific info on when would the device become available for purchase.

According to the retailer, this Streak 7 model was not released yet, but it would be shipped to end-users placing orders for it as soon as it becomes available.

However, the retailer does offer info on the price tag of this device, having it listed at $379.99, with free shipping, and no contract agreement included into the mix.

The specifications list of this device would include a dual-core NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 application processor running at 1GHz, along with a 7-inch display, which can boast a WVGA (800 x 480 pixel) resolution.

In addition to a rear-fcing camera with video recording capabilities, the new tablet PC would also sport a 1.3 MP front-facing camera that supports video calling through popular services such as Qik or Skype.

The Dell Strea 7 would also include 16GB of internal storage, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Bluetooth capabilities, and built-in GPS receiver, with support for various location based services. Unfortunately, there will be no support for T-Mobile's 4G network, which can be enjoyed by the owners of the already available model.

Those interested in pre-ordering this Android 2.2 Froyo-based tablet PC (which should receive an update to Android 3.0 Honeycomb in the near future) should head over to Amazon here.
