Publisher THQ and developer Relic have launched a new teaser trailer for the Retribution expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II which shows the Eldar race in their full glory, suggesting that they will get a single player campaign alongside the Orks.

The Eldar for single player seem to be locked in combat with the Chaos Space Marines on a volcanic planet that has not been seen in Dawn of War II before and the early shots show that there are quite a few familiar units to their line up, which will again be based on fragile glass cannon like troops that engage at range and powerful Avatar units to get up close and personal with the enemy.

Initial information on Retribution offered by THQ focused on the Orks as a driving force for the campaign but the company quickly confirmed that they are creating the first multiple race campaign in the history of this installment, probably with a strategic map determining which battles the player will engage in.

Retribution might be the last of the expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, considering that Relic is apparently already working on the third game in the franchise, which will again upgrade the game engine and might change the mechanics.

Dawn of War II has been a big change when compared to the first game in the series, moving the focus closer to the front line, with the player managing up to four squads of Space Marines and able to customize their load outs and their abilities in a very role playing game manner.

The move to Dawn of War III might mean that we will never get to see races like the Tyranid, the Tau or the Imperial Guard in action in the current iteration of the game.
