David and Victoria Beckham got their most fervent wish a short while ago: Victoria gave birth to a baby girl, their fourth child, whom they named Harper Seven. The two are now using social networks to gush about the latest addition to their family.

Though she will probably not do an exclusive photospread and interview with and about the baby, Victoria is feeling a bit more generous with details on her Twitter page.

“Baby Harper is the most beautiful baby girl I have ever seen, I have fallen in love all over again!!!” the brand new mommy gushes to her 1.5 million followers.

It’s a known fact that, while very happy and proud of her three boys, Victoria has always wanted a daughter as well.

“We all feel so blessed and the boys love their baby sister so much!!! X VB” the singer turned fashion designer adds.

David too is speaking out about the bundle of joy, uploading a video on his Facebook page in which he explains why he and his wife chose the name of Harper Seven for the girl.

Harper, he says (video is here), is an old English name, which both he and Victoria love like crazy. At the same time, it’s the name of the author of Victoria’s favorite book, Harper Lee, who penned “To Kill a Mocking Bird.”

As for Seven, the inspiration came from various places among which, as speculated, David’s shirt number.

“A lot of people have assumed that it’s just because it was my shirt number that I wore for many years, and part of it is,” the football star says.

The number has brought him a lot of good luck and amazing achievements throughout the years, which have made him the international icon he is today. Seven literally made his career, he says.

“The other reasons behind ‘Seven’ were because it symbolizes spiritual perfection, Seven Wonders of the World, seven colors of the rainbow and in many cultures around the world, it’s regarded as a lucky number. We love the name. We love Harper Seven,” David explains.

“We’re very proud of having her in our lives and our family. It’s an amazing time for our family right now,” he concludes.
