Baby Posh has arrived: Victoria and David Beckham have welcomed their fourth child into the family, their first daughter. The girl was delivered via C-section in Los Angeles, and both mother and child are healthy and doing great.

Contrary to early reports, Victoria did not plan on giving birth on the Fourth of July, even though word had it that this would prove just how appreciative they were that America had embraced them.

People magazine says the baby girl was born in the early hours of Sunday morning in Los Angeles. She is very healthy and the family is, understandably, over the moon with the new arrival.

“The girl weighed 7 lbs., 10 oz., and was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. No name was announced,” People says.

Indeed, in a statement to the media, a rep for the couple confirmed the birth but would not reveal the name so, for a while, fans had no idea whether Victoria had eventually chosen to name her Atlanta or Felicity, as speculated before.

“Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz are excited to welcome their new baby sister to the family,” Jo Milloy, the spokesperson for the Beckhams confirms.

Only hours after Victoria gave birth, David took to his Facebook page to break the news to his fans as well – and, at the same time, to announce the girl’s name.

“I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham,” the football star writes on his Facebook wall.

“She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx,” David adds.

Given that, throughout her latest pregnancy, Victoria refused to bear her baby bump for magazine covers, chances of her doing a “mother and child” type of spread, like countless other celebrity moms have done before, are slim to none.
