14 DAY TRIAL // In October this year, one of the apparently golden couples in Hollywood, Courteney Cox and David Arquette, ended their 11-year marriage because of “irreconcilable differences.” Since then, David has been partying up a storm – but just don’t demonize him for him.
Sitting down with George Lopez the other day (story via OMG Yahoo), the actor defended his recent public antics saying that there’s no bad blood between him and Courteney, therefore he’s not just getting wild for the cameras to spite her.
In recent week, the actor has been photographed apparently intoxicated, hitting the club circuit and getting really friendly with various swimsuit-clad women.
This, in turn, has prompted some speculation about he was actually “happy” to be rid of “motherly” Courteney, which is why he was acting like a teenager who was living alone for the first time in his life.
In his interview with Lopez, Arquette says things are far from that: actually, he and Court remain on very good terms. Moreover, he’s always been like that – the media simply never had a chance to see this side of him.
“Everything’s cool,” he said. “I love my wife, she loves me,” the 39-year-old actor added, insisting that even at this point, divorce was not on the table. He and Courteney are only separated, divorce papers haven’t been filed yet.
“We care about each other. We’re at different places right now and we are figuring out what’s next... we’ll see what happens,” David went on to say.
As for those who have said he’s acting a bit too crazy for anyone to believe him he’s still trying to work things out with Courteney, David has just one thing to say: don’t twist things around.
“I am a fun loving, great person. [Don’t] make me a demon. I am one of the best people you’ll ever meet,” the actor said, apparently in earnest.
“I’ve always been a wild man. My nickname was ‘David Good Times.’ I like running around, having fun. I like meeting people!” David added.
David Arquette and Courteney Cox have a daughter together, the 6-year-old Coco.
