Video game publisher THQ and developer Relic have announced that those who enjoy the multiplayer side of the recently launched Retribution standalone expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II will be able to buy and download a new Dark Angels Space Marine chapter that can be used in any battle.

The downloadable content pack will be launched on April 6 and will cost 5 dollars for players, available on Steam, other digital retailers and the official THQ powered E-Shop.

The Dark Angels Space Marine pack will include some changes to the normal unit order, with a Company Master replacing the Force Commander, with a unique looking winged helmet distinguishing him on the battlefield.

The Tactical Marines will also have Dark Angel specific robes while other units will also be getting a visual upgrade which makes them stand out from the more normal chapters.

The pack also delivers new vehicles to use on the battlefield, with custom designs and new emblems.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II will also get more free content for the Last Stand game mode, with new Achievements linked to weapons that will add more variety to the mode.

Retribution is the latest strategy-game offering coming from Relic and the developer has managed to cramp quite a bit of Warhammer 40,000 content into the new release.

Players are now able to play a single player campaign with six different races, with the Imperial Guard, with their frail guardsmen squads and tough vehicles, making the first appearance in the game.

The same races can be used in the multiplayer side of the game, which now uses Steam instead of Games for Windows Live for matchmaking purposes.

Dawn of War II has always had a pretty loyal multiplayer gamer core, attracted by the quick matches when going head-to-head with another player and by the focus on tactical engagement, with the game not requiring any based building or classic resource collection.
