14 DAY TRIAL // Dannii Minogue is out of the British X Factor. The Aussie has made the announcement herself, saying that shooting for the new season would clash with her duties as judge on Australia’s Got Talent back home, so she had to back out of one engagement.
Sadly for those who loved to see her as judge on the British show, it was the X Factor job that she had to give up on.
With Simon Cowell reportedly out of it as well at least for the auditions stage, and Cheryl Cole heading over to the US for the new show of the same name, it looks like the new season of X Factor will bring an entirely revamped judges panel.
“I am so disappointed that I can’t be a part of The X Factor this year. I’m going to miss the show and the amazing team who work so incredibly hard on it,” Dannii tells MyDaily, where she’s an editor, The Telegraph informs.
The star says that it was just recently that it became clear to her that she couldn’t honor both commitments because of scheduling conflicts.
“During discussions for me to return to The X Factor it became clear that unfortunately, this year, the X Factor audition dates in the UK clash with the live shows of Australia’s Got Talent during June and July,” Dannii adds.
“I want to wish the new judges every success for this year's show, and can’t wait to see who the British public choose as their next big star. Thanks to everyone who has shown me so much love and support, and brought me so much joy during my four incredible years working on the show,” the Aussie further says.
Though this seems to have been a parting on amicable terms, reports in the British media would suggest otherwise: the Daily Mail, for instance, claims to have it from well-informed sources that producers simply didn’t want to accommodate Dannii as far as her schedule was concerned.
They’re set on having Tulisa Contostavlos from the band N-Dubz on the panel and this is why they came up with this idea to push Dannii out, rumor says.
