Daniel Radcliffe knows a thing or two about being in one of the biggest movie franchises ever in history, since, until not long ago, he was Harry Potter in the “Harry Potter” films. Even so, he wouldn’t trade places with Robert Pattinson of “The Twilight Saga,” he says in a new interview.

Daniel and Robert go a long way back, before the latter became the idol of millions of women from around the world for his role of Edward Cullen in “Twilight”: they starred in a “Harry Potter” film together.

While the fanbases of both films are comparable in size and dedication / commitment, Daniel says Robert is definitely the one with the most difficult brand of fame.

The difference between the two of them is to be found in the way they were exposed to fame, Daniel says in a new interview cited by The Hollywood Reporter.

“He’s a very, very nice guy,” Radcliffe says of Robert. “I think he’s had to do with kind of a lot more. I had a very gradual easing in to the idea of fame, because I was doing the first two films back to back almost,” he goes on to say.

“So, while the whole Potter film franchise was exploding, I was in studios filming and kind of unaware that this thing was going massive outside. Where as Rob, [he] was suddenly the most famous guy in the world. I think that’s a lot harder to deal with,” Daniel adds.

In other words, he wasn’t thrown into the middle of all the fan madness immediately after the films came out, like it happened to Robert.

Regardless of this, Daniel is convinced that the frenzy will not last – in his own case, not Robert’s. Audiences are fickle and the next big star is waiting just around the corner to come and ride the wave.

“I’m not going to have this fame forever. I have it now and it’s going to go. There’s going to be some other new franchise and some other young new guy. So, you’ve got to enjoy this stuff while it happens,” he says in the same interview.
