14 DAY TRIAL // It’s been a long, eventful and amazing run on the latest season of Dancing With the Stars but, like all good things, this too must come to an end. On last night’s season finale, judges and viewers crowned their winner, the pair who got to take home the mirrorball trophy.
The finale saw Chelsea Kane, Hines Ward and Kirstie Alley (with their respective partners) going against each other with almost equal force.
While Kane and Ward had the upper hand in terms of judges’ appreciation, Kirstie had impressive backup from the public, which proved to come terribly in handy when all three pairs got perfect scores on their final dances.
Kirstie and Hines made it into the final – and then, as the video below will show, Hines was named winner.
Speaking after the announcement, Hines said that he never expected to last that long on the show, let alone make it into the final and win the much coveted mirrorball trophy.
Kirstie too was very emotional, but not because she had lost or anything: she simply seemed to be so at the thought that what she described as her most wonderful adventure in her life had come to an end.
There is, of course, also the aspect that, from now on, Kirstie and partner Maks will not be spending that much time together, though a friend the actress does say for PopEater that a bond has been formed that no one – not even time – will break.
“Maks and Kirstie are going to be friends for life. They have bonded on so many levels,” says the spy.
For one thing, Maks has taught Kirstie that she can push her body to get the results she wants – and not only as far as losing weight is concerned, even though that too weighs very heavily in the balance (pun intended).
“He has done more for her than any doctor or dietitian. She wishes she could bottle him up and sell him to all those ladies who need to lose a few pounds,” says the spy.
