She’s 60 years old, has been battling weight issues for years and, until not long ago, was probably considered one of the worst possible ideas for a contestant on Dancing With the Stars ever. Actress Kirstie Alley is here to prove all nay-sayers wrong.

Last night, Kirstie and partner Maks danced Freestyle – and managed to wow the judges and the audience with the kind of moves they managed to pull.

As the video below will show, the goal was from the very start to prove that age is not a disadvantage for them as a pair, so Maks included as many jumps and lifts as possible.

Suffice it to say that all of them turned out fantastic: a barefoot Kirstie cartwheeled, jumped, pirouetted and won over audiences.

The judges too commanded her for her efforts throughout the entire season of DWTS (the season finale is tonight, when the winner will be named), even though they failed to give her 10s.

“I never would have thought weeks ago that you would do lifts. Respect girl, respect,” Bruno Tonioli said.

“That dance embodied you,” Carrie Ann Inaba told a breathless Kirstie, adding that it was clear example of how life should be lived at any age, let alone at 60.

However, when it came to unveil their scores, the judges gave the two only 9s, which generated loud boos from the audience.

It’s because everybody knew they should have gotten straight 10s, Kirstie told On The Red Carpet after the show, as the second video below will confirm.

“I think the audience knew we should have gotten 10s and that’s why they booed,” the actress said of their 27-point score.

“We should’ve. Because, you know what? It was choreographed amazingly and it was wonderful and it was sort of raw. It wasn’t this highly polished little thing,” she added.

See Kirstie and Maks’ amazing Freestyle dance below – and judge for yourself whether she’s right or not in saying they should have gotten only 10s.
