Is there anyone that doesn't support the DS these days...? Just yesterday we talked about 'OneClick Wi-Fi' enabling DS gamers to reduce the fuss of online preparation. Today, an official report says that Dual Screen Radio (the premiere podcast catering to thousands of Nintendo DS and Wii gamers) is proud to announce the public opening of their newest community service - the Wi-Fi Uplink.

According to the press release, the Uplink is a service designed to bypass the inconveniences brought upon gamers by the Nintendo "friend code" system. While it definitely makes things safer for kids, it can be troublesome to adult gamers. Basically, here's what the Uplink service allows you, as a member, to do:

■ Enter and maintain your complete friend code collection. ■ Email your friend codes to others - share them via your website or forums. ■ Track and maintain your friend code lists online with our unique system. You can see at a glace who you've added and whose added you! ■ Send and receive automated emails when events happen - NO more "PM me when added" required. ■ See other members who are currently online and PM them for a quick match! ■ Much more!

Not only does the Uplink help you track friends, communicate with them and see everything and everyone you're interested in, but it is also presented in a rich dynamic and friendly environment with fast load times and lots of options. If you're a user of the popular Opera web browser, you can even have the Uplink site READ ALOUD to you the wi-fi codes as you enter them into your DS or Wii!

The Uplink is tied directly to the popular Dual Screen Radio database service which allows the member access to hundreds of DS and Wii game profiles and the ability to add these games to their OWNED, WATCH and WISH lists and share those lists with others. Members can also vote and leave comments on games as well as earn stars for their participation. The user-contributed database features box art, links to purchase the games domestically and via import shops, personally recorded popular "practical play" videos and much more.

Just so you know, the Wi-Fi Uplink is a completely free service featuring optimized load times, cross-browser compatibility (IE is not required), no advertising of ANY kind and no spamming or reselling of user information.
