Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless still has to confirm plans to bring to the market a series of already rumored mobile phones, but it seems that it might not be too long before it would make the move.

The latest leaks on the matter suggest that the company might be on its way to launch a number of three handsets on its airwaves the very same day, May 12th.

[admark=1]Two Android-based handsets might be launched on that date, namely the Motorola DROID X2 and LG Revolution, as well as a Windows Phone 7-based mobile phone, the long-expected HTC Trophy.

The wireless services provider is also expected to release the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY in May, but that should happen towards the end of the month, on the 26th.

Nothing was officially confirmed on the matter for the time being, but recently leaked info from the wireless carrier suggests that it would indeed have a busy month.

From these devices, the LG Revolution and Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY have been already unveiled to the world, while the others are only rumored for the time being.

The Motorola DROID X2 should arrive at Verizon as the successor of the last year's popular DROID X smartphone, but with a dual-core application processor and a series of other hardware enhancements as well.

The HTC Trophy is expected to become the first Windows Phone 7 device on Verizon Wireless' network, and is said to be in limited supply when released.

The LG Revolution might become the second 4G LTE smartphone on Verizon's airwaves, provided that it would indeed arrive on shelves on May 12th, and that the DROID Charge has been delayed beyond that date.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY, the very first PlayStation-certified smartphone in the world, was already confirmed as being on its way to Verizon's network, but no specific release date for it has been unveiled for the time being.

Hopefully, next Thursday will indeed turn out to be the big day that anyone is expecting it to be, so stay tuned to learn more on this.
