Verizon Wireless is expected to start rolling-out the Android 2.2 Froyo update for another high-end device on its airwaves, the DROID Incredible by HTC, as soon as August 18, the latest rumors around the Internet suggest.

The Android 2.2 Froyo software update saga at mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless continues with new rumors regarding the high-end DROID Incredible by HTC and the day when it would taste the solution, which is now rumored to be August 18.

The first DROID in the carrier's offering, the DROID by Motorola, is already receiving the Android 2.2 update, the DROID X is expected to start receiving it sometime in September, while the recently launched Motorola DROID 2 is being shipped with the solution right from the start, so it makes sense that DROID Incredible is also getting ready for the update.

Rumors on Verizon getting ready to release the Froyo update for its DROID device surfaced ever since Google announced officially the platform version, but it is only now that we learn some specific info on when it would be delivered to DROID Incredible.

August 18 seems to be the lucky day for the device's owners, and a recent article on phone Arena says that Adobe already confirmed that a software update should soon bring support for Flash 10.1 on Verizon's DROID Incredible.

Hopefully, the update would indeed arrive this week, especially since DROID Incredible's users were expecting it ever since Froyo started being deployed on the first devices out there, including Nexus One, HTC EVO 4G, or DROID by Motorola.

However, August 18 might remain only in the rumor side, just as it is for the time being, and the roll-out might begin at a later date.

Hopefully, Verizon would soon step up an announce the Froyo update for DROID Incredible in the very near future, though chances are that things would get delayed even then, as it has happened before. Stay tuned to learn more on this.
