Admittedly, the trailer for Chris Nolan’s blockbuster dream-within-a-dream masterpiece, “Inception,” is almost as cool as the film itself. Nothing, however, compares to the latest spoof.

After “Inception” came out and it became clear within the first days that this was the movie that would rule the summer, spoofs and parodies started to appear online, as worthy of such a hit.

As Entertainment Weekly puts it, everyone wanted a share of the pie – and most releases actually managed to cause quite a fuss with fans for being spot-on and / or tremendously funny.

The latest is different from anything else done before: it features no special effects, has minimal production costs, and is reenacted by children (and a dog and a man in a bad wig).

“The people over at MakerBaker (they make and bake things, hence the name) are a little late to the game, but I think it was well worth the wait,” EW notes.

So they reenacted the “Inception” trailer using whatever they found around the house, including legos, toys, paper and even a dog for Cobb’s long lost love, played by Marion Cotillard in the original.

The “new” trailer is so much fun that most movie e-zines are praising the effort that went into making it, albeit while all admitting that Ariadne is rather spooky with her glossy wig and, well, being a grownup man.

“The mixture of kid toys, trippy camera movements, and the adorable dog are hilarious. We take it that he’s supposed to represent Cobb’s family in all of this,” ScreenCrave writes.

“Every time they show him he’s just smiling at the camera and obviously has no idea what the hell is going on. You’ve got to love the innocence in that,” the e-zine further notes.

“As for the ‘action scenes,’ their suspended in air shot is the best. We’re not sure how they pulled it off but it’s the one thing that really made us think of Inception,” the same report says.

Below is the original “Inception” trailer and, immediately below it, the new spoof made with the help of children. Enjoy.
