Sony Online Entertainment has revealed details about the PC Collector's Edition and beta registration for DC Universe Online. Furthermore, pre-order programs have also been announced by the publisher, both for online and brick and mortar retailers. DC Universe Online will be launching on the 2nd of November worldwide for the PC and the PlayStation 3.

The PC Collector's Edition will be available at launch and for pre-orders. It will include a statue of Batman leaping from a building, created by Jim Lee, a well known comic book artist. In addition to this, it will also come with a limited edition Art of DCUO book, comprise of 56 pages that detail the making of the game's art, as well as a copy of the DC Universe Online: Legends Issue No. 0 comic book, written by Tony Bedard and illustrated by Oliver Nome, Michael Lopez and Livio Ramondelli. There will be no Collector's Edition for the PlayStation 3 version of the game

Several major brick and mortar retailers will be offering the customers who pre-order the massively multiplayer online role playing game the ability to play as Batman in two versus two PvP combat. Some of these stores will also give away a limited edition comic book, while others will include a unique in-game weapon for the player characters.

Digital download pre-order offers are available from Steam and Direct2Drive. Those who pre-purchase the game from steam will receive Bane's Venom Injector, an in-game item, while Direct2Drive customers will get Mr. Freeze's Zero Grenade. Sony has also announced that fans can now register to become PC or PlayStation 3 beta testers for the game on the official site of DC Universe Online. Players will be able to become both superheroes and villains. No date has been announced, at the moment, for the beginning of the game test.
