Crytek has begun hyping up its Crysis 3 project, saying that the game, and the CryEngine 3 technology that powers it, will be able to show that the studio can do things that no-one “has done on consoles before.”

Crysis 3 was finally revealed to the world last week, after a few major rumors, and we got to see the game in action, thanks to a gameplay video earlier this week.

As always, Crytek has delivered some stunning footage that once again shows off its very powerful CryEngine 3 technology.

According to the company, these impressive results are due to its top-notch team which always tries to push things forward.

"Obviously we're limited by things such as memory, but we have brilliant R&D guys and they're able to do things that no-one has done on consoles before," Crytek’s Director of Creative Development, Rasmus Højengaard, told CVG.

His thoughts were echoed by Crytek’s Nick Button-Brown, who also praised the features that are being added to the CryEngine 3 tech by the studio’s internal teams.

“It's always a continuous evolution on our engine. We delivered DX11 for Crysis 2 and we've continued evolving that. Our next-generation PC stuff looks great. We are showing some of that, so we're really pushing the boundaries on PC. PC is our next-generation and we'll keep going with that,” he said.

“We are constantly adding new features and constantly stretching what we're doing. We have some incredibly talented tech guys who go, 'I want to go and work on this bit', and all of a sudden we have a new module. So we're always advancing it. Each of the game teams are pushing the tech, we're quite certain we're quite a long way ahead of most people.”

Players will be able to convince themselves of Crytek’s skills next year, when Crysis 3 is released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
