PlayStation 3 owners will finally receive a playable Crysis 2 multiplayer demo two weeks from now, just as Xbox 360 and PC users are already experiencing the new first-person shooter on their platforms.

Crysis 2 is nearing its release date, at the end of the month, so Crytek wants to show gamers on all platforms just how great its new shooter is.

As such, a multiplayer demo of Crysis 2 has been launched a few weeks ago on the Xbox 360, and yesterday for the PC platform.

Now, during the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, the development studio also announced that a PlayStation 3 edition of the demo will be coming to the console in two weeks.

The Crysis 2 Multiplayer PS3 demo will finally be launched on March 15, in North America at least.

The best bet is that European PlayStation 3 users will be able to download it from the PlayStation Network one day later, as is tradition.

Until then, owners of the Sony console will be able to enjoy it on the other platforms, including the Xbox 360 and PC.

Despite being launched yesterday, the PC demo of Crysis 2 was largely unplayable, because it required an account at the MyCrysis website.

Due to the flood of users who wanted such an account, the website crashed, making it impossible throughout the day to actually play the demo, either by registering in the game for an account or accessing the actual website and taking the necessary steps.

Now, it seems that these issues have been eliminated, and all PC owners are enjoying the two maps and multiplayer modes offered by the demo.

The Xbox 360 demo was also plagued by issues with the matchmaking system, but they were also fixed by Crytek.

Crysis 2's full release will arrive on March 22, in North America, and March 25, in Europe, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Until then, we only have the multiplayer demo to enjoy.
