No doubt end-users have heard of Creative, the company behind the existence of the SoundBlaster audio products, and it looks like this very outfit has created a new device that will go on sale this month.

Quite a few audio solutions came out over the past few days, so the fact that Creative would also make a move is not that great a shock.

Now, with Altec Lansing's USB-powered speaker to cover the field of portable, wired audio, and with Harman Kardon looking at living rooms, Creative chose to deliver a wireless solution.

Thus it was that the D80 Wireless Speaker came to be, complete with a pair of 3-inch, full range drivers that provide “full, dynamic audio.”

It uses the Bluetooth technology to connect to any electronic device with support for it, meaning that it can be synchronized with smartphones, tablets, notebooks, etc.

Another advantage lies in its variety of color options, which will let it appeal to many sort of users. Those colors are black, green, blue and pink (the grille is white on all of them, save the black one).

What's more, it actually has a fairly low price compared to what most wireless speakers demand from their prospective buyers.

More specifically, in order to acquire either of the four newcomers, one will have to part with $49.99. Shipments will start around the middle of the ongoing month (May, 2011).

“The adoption rate for Bluetooth enabled smart devices with built-in music playback has grown phenomenally over the last few years,” said Ting Lai Chu, Vice President for the Advanced Multimedia Group at Creative Technology Ltd.

“The Creative D80 is designed to be the perfect compact Bluetooth speaker to go with these wireless devices. What’s more, when you use the Creative D80 with Creative's highly affordable ZEN Style M300, you'll get one of the lowest costing wireless music systems money can buy.”
