Many audio solutions left Harman International Industries' labs over the years, and it looks like the company is ready to deliver its latest invention, a speaker system made of four pieces and aimed at consumers with no qualms about paying for style.

Like all other segments of the IT market, audio solutions come in many forms and can have various capabilities.

While sound quality and intensity is the first thing knowledgeable prospective buyers look for in an audio system, aesthetics are also important for many.

This is because multi-speaker systems have to fit into room environments and, thus, require attention to design, especially if they end up in living rooms.

Harman decided to take everything into account when it designed the Harman Kardon MAS 102 four-piece system.

It is made of a CD player, an amplifier and two loudspeakers, so that it may meet the needs of users that have a special liking for music.

The product also has FM radio, various analog and digital inputs (plays music from external devices) and can use a Bridge III dock (sold separately) to play off iPods and iPhones as well.

“We know that in today’s fast-paced world people are looking for convenience and ease paired with high sound quality,” said David Slump, president, HARMAN Consumer Americas.

“We engineer every system to employ the leading technologies to make music and entertainment experiences truly come alive, and the MAS 102 delivers that in a spectacular compact system.”

The newcomer has shiny black as the color of choice, so that it may fit with any room theme, but will definitely not be easy on the finances.

Basically, those that want the entertainment and style contribution of the new Harman Kardon speaker system will have to be willing to part with $999, and that is not including the aforementioned Bridge III dock.
