Another casual game for those boring hours

The booming casual games industry has just got a new family member following Total Gameplay Studio's announcement of Penguins Mania, a simulation of penguin life based on figure-clicking action. Not related with the even more popular Club Penguin, the social game, Total Gameplay Studio focuses in a Spore-like matter of developing your own happy penguin colony.

Still, there will be no real evolution involved, no creating your personalized penguin, but rather point and click in order to keep your cute little animals happy and fresh. The game's story (yes, it does have a story) begins with a sudden departure of a penguin tribe that only leaves behind two eggs. Becoming a kind of Adam and Eve, the newly hatched penguins will be the first ones that need your help and protection in order to hatch new eggs and advance to the next stage where even more natural hazards await, ready to make their lives tougher. Along the way, you will discover the history of your tribe and the reasons of the initial departure.

Whenever your penguins are happy (you can make them happy by defeating the hazards and giving them food), they will produce "happy tokens" which can be used for upgrades and buying new eggs for your colony. Each level of the game needs a certain amount of coins to be collected before proceeding to the next one and, as you advance, you will get the chance to buy pets which will guard or help your penguins in different matters.

Also, there are trophies you can collect in order to achieve different goals. Even more, there is a second game mode available, where you breed penguins in real-time for profit. In both modes, the game is a great challenge for your reaction and attentiveness. And they all require a lot of clicking from you.

Penguins Mania has already been released on Total Gameplay's official website, where it can be purchased for $19.50.
