Crackdown 2, the latest installment in the open world franchise, will be receiving its second paid downloadable content pack in the form of Deluge this month, bringing new features, multiplayer modes and interconnectivity with the Windows Phone 7 Crackdown: Project Sunburst application.

Crackdown 2 is the successor to the very popular Crackdown, and once again places players in the armors of super powered Agents that needed to clean up Pacific City and have some pure mindless fun with all the power they had.

With the addition of the new Deluge DLC, the game will receive a new multiplayer survival mode called, what else, Deluge.

This new mode, similar to Halo's Firefight or Gears of War's Horde, will allow four players to battle endless waves of enemies throughout Pacific City and survive for as long as possible.

Capture the Orb mode will also be added, being Crackdown's own take on the classic Capture the Flag mechanic.

Besides the new multiplayer modes, Deluge will also update some of the guns and cars featured in Crackdown 2.

The DLC will also allow those who will get Crackdown: Project Sunburst for their Windows Phone 7 mobile to unlock new things in the full game like the ability to call in a helicopter or order backup from the Peacekeepers.

Once you reach certain scores in Deluge, new things will also be unlocked for Project Sunburst, so it's a win-win scenario.

What's really special about the Deluge DLC is that it will be available in trial form, so you can download it and test it for a set amount of time for free, and then decide if you want to keep the new content and modes.

Those that are certain they want this new Crackdown 2 add-on content will have to wait until November 16, and will cost just 560 MS Points.
