Since the winter celebrations are just around the corner, many devices are crowding to reach the American market as well. This seems to be the case with the Cowon S9, which is set to reach the States very soon.

[ADMARk=1]The S9 represented a huge disappointment when it was released for Korea, but without any availability data for the States. Now, however, it looks like in a matter of days, the handset will be on sale, much sooner than expected, in the Americas as well.

Packed with plenty of useful and appealing specs, the device includes a 3.3'', 480x720 pixels, 16m color AMOLED touchscreen display, and it will be running using the 500Mhz dual-core processor. In addition, Cowon will also come with Bluetooth 2.0 with stereo headset support and a G-sensor accelerometer.

Focusing on the most impressive features, the S9 has been designed to withstand a lot of “torture” and keep going as if nothing happened. It can hold out up to 11 hours of talk and 55 hours of audio performances. Moreover, the DVD MPEG4 and TV output qualities, the JetEffect 2.0 audio technology plus the EQ filter with stereo enhancement and 3D Surround and enhanced audio processing really deliver a highly appreciated and enjoyable experience.

Regarding the design, this represents one of the most appealing features the S9 offers, “unleashing” a very stylish and smooth look. Come to think of it, this was one of the main reasons why this PMP was so regretted for coming to the States so late.

The device has been set to be available for purchase starting December 19th, if not in stores at first, then at JetMall, Newegg, Amazon or eBay. The pricing information has also been released: $199.99 for the 8GB model and $239.99 for the massive 16GB version.
