The game's designers are moving on to other projects one after another, but that's no reason to panic

Fans of the God of War series have always had reasons for tension. Doubts about whether the game was getting a sequel or not first emerged when David Jaffe, the Lead Designer for God of War (one) moved onto other projects and eventually his own studio. Cory Barlog then grabbed the helm (God of War 2) but he too has now moved on to other stuff, which he promises to reveal more info on in the near future. Still, the man assures fans that God of War III is doing fine.

Here's what Cory Barlog wrote on his blog:

"The Sony Santa Monica team is one of the best teams I have ever worked with. Also, immediately after I finished God of War 2 I was already working on the story and design for the third game. So when Sony and I finally did part ways the foundation of the game, along with story that completes the arc we began in God of War, was complete," said Barlog. "I wish I could have been there to see it through to the end, but it was just not meant to be I guess. The story is going to finish off with a very big, very epic bang though. I think everyone will be quite pleased."

Barlog also claims he's "cooking up several things" at the moment, promising to reveal more on them real soon, emphasizing that moving on from the God of War series is not something he regrets. But he doesn't regret working with Kratos either: "For me, the whole departure from Sony was not exactly the ideal route that I wanted to go, but in the end I think it is the absolute best thing I could have ever done," Cory stated.

So as you can see, God of War 3 is doing just fine. The only question that remains is: did Kratos make another pact with Ares?
