Corsair has just announced it has updated its popular entry-level and midrange Builder series of power supply units with the addition of three new CX V2 models which can provide between 430 and 600 Watts of power.

The Builder Series CX V2 is the successor to the current CX family of PSUs and offers 80 PLUS certification while also being compliant with the European Commission Energy-Related Product (ErP) directive.

None of the three units feature a modular design, but they do come with all the security systems that high quality PSUs have accustomed us with, including over-voltage, over-power, under-voltage, and short circuit protection.

In addition, the Builder Series CX power supply units also features fully sleeved cables, active PFC, a single 12V rail and cooling is provided by a 120mm fan.

“The Builder Series CX PSUs have been an integral part of Corsair's PSU business, offering home system builders and hobbyists Corsair quality and reliability at attractive prices,” said Ruben Mookerjee, VP and general manager for Components at Corsair.

“Low cost of operation and trouble-free performance are highly desired features at every price point and today we are proud to offer even better efficiency and a longer warranty with the new Builder Series CX V2 PSUs,” concluded the company's rep.

The CX600 V2 will be available for a suggested retail price of $74 USD, while the CX500 V2 will be priced at $64 USD.

The most basic of the three units, the CX430 V2, has an MSRP of $49 USD. All three power supply units are expected in May.

To reaffirm the high quality of its PSUs, Corsair has increased the warranty of the CX V2 units to three years, one year longer than the original Builder series models.
