Now that the IT market at least seems to be getting back to its old, periodically-updated self, Ecomaster, or at least its LEPA brand, figured it was time to unleash a new series of power supply units.

Nowadays, a power supply is arguably not worth noting unless it has something to show in terms of power efficiency.

The 80Plus rating system is, thus, quite relevant, although the higher a PSU is on that scale, the more expensive it gets.

80Plus Gold is the rating usually associated with high-end PSUs, although there are a few select models with 80Plus Platinum ranking.

80Plus Silver can be said to be the least common, since it too is usually associated with the high-end, meaning that companies sometimes just decide to push efficiency a little higher, for the Gold rating, since the price difference is, in some cases, negligible.

That said, 80Plus bronze and the simple 80Plus rating is the one that defines mainstream units, with low-end ones often lacking any recognition of this type.

Ecomaster's, or in this case LEPA's, new W PSU line is 80Plus-qualified, as its 400W, 500W and 600W members have efficiency of up to 85%.

The products are meant for gamers, have active PFC, one or two 8-pin PCI Express power connectors a single 12V rail (each) and a temperature-controlled, 120mm fan.

Meanwhile, the N-series has members with similar wattages and have system integrators as primary target segment. As such, they have their own benefits, like protection against Over Power, Over Voltage, Short-Circuit, Brown Out and Over Current.

The PSUs of the N line have prices as low as 34.90 Euro, while the W-Series start at 59.90 Euro. All products comply with the EU ErP Lot 6 2010 standby power draw requirements and are non-modular.
