Distributor SouthPeak Games is saying that it has commissioned developer Atomic Motion to create a new game called Raven Squad: Operation Hidden Dagger, which is set to be a combination of real time strategy and first person shooter. The game aims to offer something interesting to the fans of the two genres.

Melanie Mroz, the Chief Executive Officer of SouthPeak, stated that "Atomic Motion is creating something that's visually compelling and building new boundaries in what a military title can accomplish", trying to establish some credibility for the previously unknown developer which hails from Hungary.

The plot of the game involves a murky conflict which is playing out somewhere deep in the Amazonian jungle. You are the commander of one group of mercenaries which is approaching the conflict zone to provide their services to the highest bidder. Unfortunately, the plane carrying the mercenaries crashes in the middle of the jungle and everyone sees the survivors as being a threat.

The game will initially play out in real time as a strategy title, with the player moving his mercenaries around to take care of any threat they might face. If the situation gets dicey, you can jump in and take personal control of any of your mercenaries to go on to the first part of the game. There will be a variety of tactical challenges that you will need to tackle as you try to guide your troops out of the jungle.

Melanie Mroz says that "Raven Squad combines two extremely popular genres into a single robust experience where either gameplay mode could stand on its own merits. Fans of both RTS and FPS games are going to love it, as will anyone who enjoys intense, action titles".

The game is aimed for an autumn release and is expected to only be available on the Xbox 360 and PCs.
