Ricky Martin fans have good reason to rejoice: while the singer remains mum on upcoming projects, producer Desmond Child freely dishes on the next album with BlackBook.

In March this year, in a heartfelt post on his official page, Ricky Martin came out, finally putting an end to many years of speculation about his orientation.

Not only has this helped him move on with his personal life and come clean to those who matter the most to him (friends, family and fans), but it has also helped with his music.

According to Desmond Child, who is working with Martin on his upcoming album, the announcement came in genuine “the truth will set you free” fashion, allowing for a flood of creativity.

“I’m really excited about the music, the content, because since he’s come out it’s unleashed his creativity and the scope of what he can sing about and say and do. He’s a formidable person – an activist, a philanthropist, a humanitarian,” the uber-producer says.

All these sides of the singer will now be reflected into his music, into his new material – plus aspects of his personal life and, of course, what he’s learned from the experience of being a father.

“All of the work he’s put into his charity – it’s all going into the music. His personal life too, and how much his life has been changed by his children. Once he opened that door a floodgate of energy and creativity just really exploded,” the producer explains.

Because of all this, Ricky’s next album, which is yet to have a title and / or an official release date, will be unlike any other he’s put out so far – which can’t but come as good news for his fans.

“Definitely. We really reached a creative fusion of rock and pop and electronic and Latin music – it’s all over the place in a really great way,” Desmond Child further reveals.

Ricky Martin’s last released a studio album 2 years ago, in 2008, when he put out “17.” For more details on his next project and the changes it will bring, make sure you keep an eye on this space.
