Cobra Electronics, the famous manufacturer of communication and navigation products, announced recently the launch of the Cobra PhoneLynx system. The new product allows users to make and receive cell phone calls on any phone in a home, thus eliminating the need for monthly landline phone services.

The device pairs the user's mobile phone with home phone through the Bluetooth wireless technology.

The company said that the installation process is very easy and similar to pairing a mobile phone with a wireless headset.

Basically, users will be able to make calls with their home phones using the cell phone's number. Also, as the cell phone is paired with the home phones, the latter will ring when the user's mobile phone rings.

“The Cobra PhoneLynx system truly represents the next generation of home telecommunications,” said Sally Washlow, Cobra's senior vice president, marketing and sales for Cobra Electronics.

“With the Cobra PhoneLynx system, there's simply no reason for most people to waste hundreds of dollars each year on home phone bills.”

The Cobra PhoneLynx system wirelessly connects the mobile phone with the phones that previously were used with the home's landline, the moment the user is in range.

Furthermore, consumers can keep their mobile phone in locations with strong signal reception, be it basements or other “unusual” places, and still be able to make phone calls using any of the paired home phones.

The system comes with specific noise-canceling technology called ClearCall. In fact, many consumers will find their cell phone connection will sound better than ever before.

Cobra Electronics emphasizes the fact that other products on the market in the same category require the use of an Internet connection, as well as monthly charges or annual service fees, while Cobra PhoneLynx system doesn't require an Internet connection, nor any paying fees.

The Cobra PhoneLynx system has a suggested retail price of $59.95 and is available starting this month.
