NCsoft has announced that it is launching winter holiday-themed events in all the MMO titles that it is maintaining, trying to attract more players to the games and offering rewards for those who have been loyal for a long period of time.

In the most recently release, Aion, the Solorius Festival is being celebrated with special clothes and fireworks. The tradition for the Festival is derived from before the destruction of Atreia and honors all the Daevas for the way they are working for humanity.

The capital cities of the Elyos and the Asmodians will host most of the happenings. Merchants are set to offer new items, bakers can make cakes and drinks and giant keyboards will be offered to those players who are interested in making some festive music.

In Guild Wars, one of the veteran MMO projects created by NCsoft, the Tyrian New Year is celebrated with decorations, gifts, special holiday treats and appropriate weather events. Ascalon City, Lion's Arch, Droknar's Forge, Kamadan, Jewel of Istan and Eye of the North will be the main venues for events, and a Polar Bear can be obtained by some players. There's also a chance to get a Guild Wars 2 Art Book by creating some fan art and submitting it to the official site.

City of Heroes is setting up a tough fight for its winter event, with the superheroes of Paragon City fighting against Snaptooth, who has kidnapped Baby New Year. The enemies will include snow beasts, winter lords and Lord Winter himself. There are two new badges, Festive and Lord of Winter, to be gained and ski challenges to be completed.

Both Lineage and Lineage II will also get events centered around the reindeers that help Santa Claus deliver presents and even on taking on the role of Christmas gift dispenser. Most of the events begin this week and last till the first of January 2010.
