David Guetta is interested in a collaboration with Christina Aguilera, says report

Amidst talk that Christina Aguilera has ceased all promotion for her latest material, “Bionic,” because it underperformed, new reports say she may have decided to focus on a new project.

Global Grind has learned that the diva is close to teaming up with famous DJ David Guetta for a new song, though whether that’s one of the tracks on her album or a new one has yet to be determined.

Seeing how whatever Guetta touches seems to turn to gold (meaning, most of his recent collaborations with pop stars), this could be Christina’s ticket back to the top of the charts.

“Superstar DJ David Guetta, known for making hit songs with Akon and Kelly Rowland, has now enlisted Christina Aguilera for a new project,” Global Grind says.

“The French DJ is currently touring Mexico and recently told a Mexican publication that he loves the ‘power’ of Christina’s voice and hopes to record something ‘unique’ with her,” says the same report.

There could be just one impediment to the collaboration: and that’s the hectic schedules of both artists, Guetta also reportedly said for the same publication.

“In November, Guetta will re-release his ‘One Love’ album with four new songs, including one with Rihanna called ‘Who’s That Chick’,” Global Grind writes.

“He’s also recorded nine new songs for his next studio album, which is due out 2011, and along with Aguilera, will also potentially feature Usher and Will.i.am,” the same report informs.

For the time being, Christina is preparing for the release of “Burlesque,” which also marks her first attempt at acting in such a major role.

No word yet on the tour she canceled earlier this year, that was supposed to support “Bionic,” and of which she said she would reschedule once she was done promoting the film.

However, should the collaboration with David Guetta turn out to be more than just a rumor, rest assured you’ll find out about it here.
