Diva meets diva on the red carpet as Christina teams up with Cher

Christina Aguilera has been keeping somewhat of a low profile for the past year or so, choosing to put her career on hold as she saw to her expanding family and becoming a mother. However, at last night’s Golden Globes ceremony, it was as if she had never left, with the petite singer taking to the red carpet in a fabulous strapless pink gown, as JustJared can confirm.

As fans might remember, there was a time when style and perhaps even class too (at least as far as ceremony awards went) were foreign notions to The Voice, as she’s sometimes dubbed in the media. Her shock days long gone, Christina is now a graceful presence, one that can easily outshine even established fashionistas. And that happens, many believe, because it all comes naturally to her, which means she’s never at risk of looking as if trying too hard.

The same goes for her appearance at the 2010 Golden Globes. “The 29-year-old songstress wore a Versace strapless peach colored chiffon gown with a metallic bodice and peach colored leather inserts. She finished off her look with Nina Ricci jewels, a Judith Leiber clutch and Webster jewels,” JustJared says. She was joined on the red carpet by her “Burlesque” co-star, Cher, who made a striking contrast in a black, goth-looking, yet very feminine gown.

Aguilera’s changing looks throughout the years also reflect her becoming more mature musically. In a recent interview, the star revealed she had no regrets as to her past, not even as regards once being considered Britney Spears’ biggest rival. “I had a really hard time being light before. I’d get a little weird about it being too cliché. My first record was very clichéd pop – what everyone else wanted. [My second album ‘Stripped’] inspired by a lot of pain. [My third, ‘Back to Basics,’] still had some sort of relation to my past. [My new album] is just about the future – my son in my life, motivating me to want to play and have fun,” she said, as we also reported at the time.

As far as her style is concerned, last night’s appearance confirms that she’s a diva in the true sense of the word and without any negative connotation whatsoever.
