The Nintendo Wii has introduced a lot of interesting things, from the likes of motion control to new titles that make gamers get off of the couch and start moving around, thus burning some of the calories that many people have in excess.

But while a lot of people try to unwind with a friendly match of tennis thanks to the Wii Sports suite of titles, others take it a bit too serious, as we have all seen reports of injuries due to the extremely popular Nintendo console, which is selling a lot of units every day.

The most recent victim? None other than famed singer and pop star Christina Aguilera, according to an inside source for gossip website Showbizspy. According to the report, the singer is a big fan of the Nintendo Wii, using it a lot, but not in recent weeks, as she bruised her hand while playing a game of tennis with her husband.

“Christina loves her Wii as a fun way to do a little work out,” said the source. “Now she’s a mother, it’s perfect for her. On this one occasion she and Joel were in the middle of a particularly heated game of tennis and Christina came off a little worse for wear in a run-in with a table lamp. She has a bruised hand but is more upset that she lost the game!”

So there you have it, gamers, you can see that even celebrities take their games quite seriously, which sometimes even results in injuries, as this case now reveals. Hopefully the singer will still be able to spend more quality time with her beloved console and will be more careful the next time things get really competitive.
