The mobile phone carrier Vodafone has announced a new version of the LG Chocolate, the KU800, which is an LG Chocolate KG800 mobile handset, with added 3G functionality and, the most important upgrade, an SD memory expansion card slot.

Other features that come with this new flavor of Chocolate are the 65k colors 320x240 pixels 2 inch display (a step back from the 262k colors display of its 3G-less predecessor), a 2 megapixel camera with 2x zoom that takes photos of up to 1600x1200 pixels resolutions and also records video clips at a maximum resolution of 320x240 pixels, a secondary 640x480 pixel camera for video conferences, an internal 60 MB of internal memory which can be upgraded with microSD or TransFlash memory cards, integrated Vodafone Live! Services (Vodafone-UMTS, Vodafone-GPRS, Vodafone-MobileTV, Vodafone-eMail and many others), connectivity through wireless Bluetooth technology and USB, and a media player with support for audio files (AMR, MID, imelody, WAV, 3GP, AAC, MP3, MP4, XMF, MMF, WMA, etc.) and video files (MPEG, WMV, 3GP, H264, H263, MP4, 3GPP, etc.).

Also, the device comes with MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 Java platform support, and WTLS 1, WTLS 2, SSL3.0 and TLS1.0 security protocols so you won't have to worry about any intruders that want to get their hands on your mobile personal data.

The KU800 is measuring 95x17x46 mm, weighs 98 grams, being pretty lightweight considering the fact that this is a 3G enabled mobile phone, and will be available for the Vodafone customers through the sell channels this month on its markets around the world.
