All those that were made to feel unconformable by Cho Aniki are in for a heart-throbbing shock. Aksys Games has announced that it plans to port the game over to the PlayStation Portable for North Americans as well. The truly unique shooter will be available as a downloadable item and is bound to stir some old feelings back to life.

As the latest entry in the series, Cho Aniki Zero was launched in Japan earlier this year. Similar to Cho Aniki: Seinaru Protein Densetsu on the PlayStation 2, the game will be a 2.5D shooter and it will feature “five man-mazing levels of love,” along with multiple endings, depending on the result that each gamer manages to accomplish. If this is not something to get excited about, I couldn't imagine what could be. Perhaps, a “Cho Dead or Alive” version or something in the same idea could raise more interest, but it's doubtful.

According to Associate Producer Frank deWindt II, “Cho Aniki Zero is a real trip. It's wacky, hilarious, and just plain fun. Be it the crazy characters, the challenging gameplay, or even the out-of-this-world enemies, you'll find yourself chugging down protein shakes between levels before you know it!” Even if that happens, there probably won't be a lot of people willing to publicly admit it. The game does touch a pretty delicate subject, especially in the prejudicial “modern” society of today.

The game series started in 1992, when the first Cho Aniki was released on the PC Engine system. So far, it has managed to give birth to six sequels, including Cho Aniki Zero. The title wasn't released in America until last year, when it finally received a version of the “Super Bigbrother” for the Wii Virtual Console. The PlayStation Portable version of Cho Aniki Zero for the American public will be in stores in spring, the season of love.
