14 DAY TRIAL // Three years into their marriage, singer Cheryl Cole and football star Ashley Cole are again at the center of a media scandal, after no less than 5 different women have stepped forward to claim he was never really faithful to his wife. The Girls Aloud singer is now in the US on promotional duties, and has been romantically linked to dancer Derek Hough in the media. Even more, the two even spent last night together, just before Cheryl jetted back to the UK to give Ashley a piece of her mind, the Daily Mail says.
Cheryl and Derek go a long time back, having even worked together for the video of her latest single, “Parachute,” off her debut solo album. However, because she’s been photographed out with him on at least three different occasions over the few days she’s been in Los Angeles has understandably fuelled speculation that there might be more to their relationship than just a purely platonic one. In this sense, reports that they spent the night together will do nothing to put rumors to rest.

The X Factor star, who arrived at Los Angeles LAX Airport last night, believed to be bound for London, was reportedly being comforted by the dancer who is helping her through her marriage crisis,” the Mail writes. Moreover, there are “eyewitness” who can confirm that, indeed, Derek left Cheryl’s apartment in the wee hours of morning.
“With the couple’s break-up due to be formally announced in the coming days, as the Daily Mail revealed, Mrs. Cole is thought to have shelved a promotional trip to the Netherlands, scheduled for this afternoon, in order to plan her split from Ashley. The petite brunette spent the evening at her exclusive Beverley Hills hotel, The London, locked away with Mr. Hough, a talented dancer, The Sun reported. Mr Hough – a professional on Dancing With The Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, stayed with Mrs. Cole until 4am when he left with his dog,” the same tabloid says.
Of course, there are also voices who say the two are nothing but good friends who are spending more time together now that Cheryl is not having one of the best periods in her life. As such, there is nothing strange about them staying up until morning talking, with Derek probably offering Cheryl advice on what to do next. Still, given that both stars are incredibly good looking, young and famous, many choose to see in this the beginning of a beautiful love story.
