14 DAY TRIAL // Even before announcing her intention to divorce husband Ashley Cole, Cheryl had been spending a lot of time with US dancer Derek Hough. In recent weeks, the two have been spotted together more and more often, with him even spending the night at Cheryl’s former marital home. That’s because they’re a couple, Derek’s father, Aaron Nelson, confirms in a recent interview cited by AceShowbiz.
Whether the two are dating or are simply just very close friends, Derek helping Cheryl go through this difficult moment in her life, has been subject to much speculation in recent months, as also noted above. Now, rumors should be put to rest, the dancer’s father says for he (Derek) is with Cheryl – and very much in love, for that matter. Moreover, he’d dedicate his entire life to making her happy, if only Cheryl would have him, Mr. Nelson also believes.
“For Derek, this is true love. There is no doubt about it. He is totally in love with her. And it’s easy to see why. She is one hell of a girl. Very talented and incredibly beautiful. I know Derek is in love with her because he has told me he is in love with her and I think she feels the same way about him. She is the girl of his dreams and he is desperate to be with her. He would follow her to the ends of the Earth. He and his new lady are going off on a romantic holiday. I can’t say where as he’d kill me,” Mr. Nelson is quoted as saying.
As of now, there are no plans in place to spend the rest of their life together, though not for lack of trying on Derek’s behalf. “After that, who knows what is going to happen? But this girl is very special to Derek and he is at a point in his life where he is ready to settle down. He is ready to be in love and make that commitment. Derek is looking for a new home in Los Angeles, so he can have his own space and we will just have to wait and see what the future holds,” the dancer’s dad further explains.
