Next season of the show will be her last, report says

A few days ago, Dannii Minogue confirmed that she was, indeed, expecting a child with model boyfriend Kris Smith, which also means she would not be returning as judge on X Factor, as previously suspected. Another celebrity that is making plans for an imminent departure is also singer Cheryl Cole, who will only stay on the show until her contract expires, meaning December this year, the Daily Mail has learned.

Useless to say, the X Factor exposure has helped Cole immensely in terms of launching a very successful solo career, but keeping to such a busy agenda also has its drawbacks. One of them would be constantly putting off plans to start a family, the Mail says. Nevertheless, this will change when the next season of X Factor ends and when Cheryl will be leaving her position as a judge in order to start a family with husband Ashley Cole.

“She has kept up her X Factor judging duties while launching a solo singing career and becoming the face of a beauty advertising campaign. But now Cheryl Cole is planning to quit the TV talent show to embark on a more homely project – she wants to start a family with footballer husband Ashley. The ‘Fight for This Love’ singer, who is also the face of L’Oreal, plans to sign up to a £1.5million X Factor deal that will take her up until the series, due to launch in August, ends in December, the Daily Mail has learned,” the British tab writes.

“Cheryl has made it clear that she wants to have a baby sooner rather than later. This is something she knows she has to plan. She will be 27 in June and she really wants to start a family with Ashley,” an unnamed but admittedly very reliable source says for the Mail. In order to stick with her plans, Cheryl is even willing to turn down Simon Cowell’s more than generous offer for a position as a judge on the US version of X Factor, for which he left American Idol and which should launch next year at the latest.

However, starting a family would not be the only thing that would prevent Cheryl from turning down Simon’s offer, the same insider further reveals for the Mail. Living abroad in the US, even if only for a few months at a time, would be too much of an inconvenience for Cheryl and her husband, and perhaps no amount of money could compensate for that, the tipster says. On the other hand, the show would make her an international star.
