As controversy around the X Factor finalists continues to rage on, Cher Lloyd is preparing for her first live show, on Saturday, which is also when fans will be allowed to start voting for their favorites.

The diminute singer is healthy, in a good place (mentally speaking) and, above all, well prepared to face the challenge and prove skeptics, for once and for all, that she’s not on the show only because (according to some) she looks like Cheryl Cole.

Speaking with the Daily Mail, Cher again tackles the harshest rumors that are now being circulated about her, like her health and whether she deserves to be on show.

Former contestants and sources from among ITV staff have told the British media that Lloyd hardly eats anything and that she’s been losing weight ever since she started bootcamp.

Moreover, she’s constantly nervous, which makes it very hard for others to be around her, which has prompted speculation that she may be too fragile to be able to handle the pressure and stress.

“I am eating. There is no problem. Of course I am eating I wouldn’t be able to perform [this Saturday] if I wasn’t,” Cher says for the Mail.

As for her disappointing performance of last weekend, when she came down with a nasty throat infection that brought her on the verge of tears because she couldn’t sing, that was just a one-time thing.

That is to say, Cher is denying reports she doesn’t deserve to be on the show, promising audiences she will prove to them just how good she can be.

“At judge’s houses it wasn’t the pressure that was affecting me it was frustration. I knew I could smash that song,” she says.

“Off stage I am very nervous but as soon I as I get on stage then it is different. I will be fine,” Cher adds, promising she won’t be dropping out of the competition anytime soon.

When Gamu Nhengu was eliminated from the show, fans who were rooting for her went up in arms, even crying for boycott of the show by asking others not to vote for Cher and Katie Waissel.

One reason why Cher is still on the show, they said, was that Cheryl Cole had taken her under her wing because she was like a mini-me version of her.

“I am not a mini-Cheryl. I am my own person. I feel like if you like me, you like me – if you don’t then I’ll see you later. I don’t have to try to be different from Cheryl I am my own person,” Cher says in her statement for the aforementioned publication.
