Beautiful Game Studios, as the developer, and Eidos Interactive, as the publisher, have announced that the latest entry in the Championship Manager series will be arriving on the PC on September 11 on the European market. A demo is also set to arrive on August 14, offering interested football fans about a month to see how the game plays and make an informed buying decision.

Roy Meredith, who is the general manager for Championship Manager, declared that “I’m delighted to be able to confirm the 11th September release date for Championship Manager 2010. This edition contains features which will really set us apart from the competition such as CM Season Live™ which offers a totally new dimension to the football management genre. This is the culmination of two years’ incredibly hard work and the whole studio is genuinely excited about how gamers will react when they get the chance to play it for the first time.”

Eidos is emphasizing that Championship Manager 2010 has been in development for about two years and that the improvements are more than the usual updated player database and some new kits for the featured clubs.

The game features a new 3D match engine that is based around 500 unique player animations and should offer a more entertaining way to experience match day than the 2D view. There's also a new set piece creator that can be used to deploy complex moves from free kicks and corners. The player can now set up Scouting Networks in various countries and there are more options related to discovering new promising players and getting them to join your club.

The demo, coming in the middle of August, will allow players to enjoy Championship Manager 2010 for six in-game months. Players will be able to try various tactics and see the improvements in action before the original release coming on September 11. The game is localized for French, Italian, Spanish, Turkish and Polish.
