14 DAY TRIAL // Singer Celine Dion, now pregnant with twin boys, has been rushed to the hospital, where she will remain until she gives birth, in the hope to prevent a premature birth.
In previous statements to the media and interviews, the singer stressed that she’d agree to complete bedrest if that meant a guarantee the babies would be born on term.
Just recently, she said she’d also do anything to prevent them from coming into the world prematurely, to avoid possible future health complications.
This seems to be the reasoning behind her admission to the hospital, TMZ says. The singer will probably remain there until she’d due to give birth, in a month.
“42-year-old Celine Dion – who’s 8 months pregnant with twins – has checked into a hospital in Florida this morning in an effort to prevent a premature birth,” TMZ reports.
According to a publicist for Dion, she’s at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla., where she will remain until she delivers the twin boys.
“Celine decided to admit herself to ensure that she’s around her doctors until the delivery. Dion and her husband Rene Angelil have one 9-year-old son,” TMZ says.
“The hospital has released a statement saying they will ‘enhance’ security during Celine’s stay... but insist the family did not pressure officials into making the decision,” the same media outlet says.
As fans must know, Celine has always been very open about wanting to have more babies, often saying she could think of no greater pleasure in life than being able to have children and raise a family.
In 2009, after receiving IFV, Celine got pregnant but miscarried, reports in the media said at the time. Both she and Angelil said they would not stop trying to have more babies – not while there was still some hope left.
In May 2010, they finally got to see their wish come true, when Celine became pregnant with twins.
