Rocksteady, as the developer, with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, as the publisher, and DC Entertainment have announced that Stana Katic, best known for her work on the television series Castle on ABC, will be doing the voice work for the character of Talia al Ghul in the upcoming Batman: Arkham City video game.

When the voice work announcement was made, Stana Katic stated, “Talia is such a complex character and it was great to voice her in Batman: Arkham City. I was amazed at all the detail put into the project and it’s great to see how excited the fans are about the game.”

Batman: Arkham City is set to expand on the gameplay mechanics and on the universe that the team at Rocksteady has created in the first game in the series, Arkham Asylum, by allowing the player to explore a world that is five times as big and includes a number of Gotham landmarks.

The story is built on the concept that Quincy Sharp, the warden of the asylum, is able to become mayor of the city and turns a number of slums into Arkham City, a space that is ruled by thugs and by villains as long as they do not attempt to escape.

Batman is forced to patrol the area to make sure that nothing happens and, as always, the Joker, together with other important characters, brings chaos to the whole area.

It's not yet clear how Talia al Ghul will fit into the storyline of Batman: Arkham City, but she could play the part of romantic interest to the main character, perhaps competing with Catwoman for his affection.

Batman: Arkham City is set to be released on the PC, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony on October 18 in North America and the customary three days later in Europe.
