Casio introduced in November its latest compact camera model, the EXILIM EX-10, which at the time became the company's new flagship for the compact segment.

According to Digicameinfo, the Nippon electronics maker is planning to introduce a new compact camera model that will be better than the current EX-10. Casio EX-100 will feature the same 12.1MP 1/1.7'' image sensor as the EX-10, but it will come with a longer lens capable of covering a 35mm equivalent focal length of 28-300mm.

Moreover, the lens also features a constant f/2.8 aperture value throughout the entire zoom range. As you can see from the leaked photo above, the EX-100 is very similar with its older sibling, but for the moment there's no other information regarding its specs, price, or availability.

Although the digital compact camera market is in descent, Casio seems to be betting on high-end models that could be more appealing to customers thanks to their extensive feature list.
