Electronic Arts has announced that three international football stars, Kaka, Carlos Vela and Landon Donovan will be featured on the cover of the American edition of FIFA Soccer 11 when it goes on sales for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, PlayStation 3 from Sony, the PS2, the Nintendo DS, the PlayStation Portable and other mobile devices like the iPhone.

Landon Donovan is well known for playing in the United States for Los Angeles Galaxy and has turned in quite a few very good performances at this year's World Cup.

He is now 28 years old and has won the Most Valuable Player award from the Major League Soccer and the award for the best goal of the year in 2009.

Donovan is not on the cover of the football simulation game for the first time, having graced the cover of FIFA Soccer in 2003 and in 2007 for the North American market.

The American star will not be alone on the cover of FIFA Soccer 11. He will be joined by Brazilian superstar midfielder Kaka, who is the star chosen by Electronic Arts to appear on cover of the game all over the world, and by Carlos Vela, a forward for Mexico and for Arsenal who scored two goals at the South African World Cup.

Matt Bilbey, who is the vice president of Soccer at EA Sports, has stated, “Landon is the most recognizable, popular and accomplished soccer player in the United States and he was at his best with the world watching during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. After his FIFA World CupTM performance and the season he had with the Galaxy last year we felt he belonged back on the cover of FIFA Soccer 11.”

FIFA 11 is set to appear on September 28 and will offer quite a few improvements over last years installment, with the most important being the Personality+ system, which is designed to make players perform on the virtual pitch as they would do in real life.
