Capcom is announcing that the Monumental Games studio is set to develop the next videogame in which the company makes use of its Moto GP license. The game should appear on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 sometime in March 2010, bearing the official name of MotoGP 09/10.

Capcom is promising that, although the title will be kind of late, it will have everything that players need to simulate the 2009 racing season while also offering them a chance to download all the content related to the 2010 season at no extra charge.

Michael Pattison, who is the senior marketing director at the European division of Capcom, stated that “Historically MotoGP videogames have been released toward the end of the GP season, but with this latest addition to the series we wanted MotoGP and racing fans to have the most up to date content as soon as possible. Never before will gamers have been able to play with current season content so early in the real world GP season.”

The Career Mode has been revamped so that players are fully able to race in all the events on one season while also acting as managers of the teams they choose, with full control over all aspects of their running, from the hiring of press officers and engineers to the way the bikes themselves are preparing for the race.

Alongside the more complex Career Mode, players will also get access to three other game modes, with the Arcade section offering challenges, in which players can steal points from opponents, in addition to the classic racing action. Capcom is saying that it will also deliver an online multiplayer mode, which will be complete with a leaderboard and with a spectator mode.

Capcom's decision to release the videogame in March 2010 might seem weird to some players but it makes sense if the company manages to create an experience that truly reflects the challenges and thrills of Moto GP.
